Producer
Amanda first developed her skills as a producer at Macquarie University. She began as a producer, stage manager, lighting operator and set designer for Actors Anonymous in 1997. Some of AA’s productions during its six year history included Into the Woods, Little Shop of Horrors, and Noises Off. She also co-founded the Macquarie University Musical society, which continues to thrive. During 2003-2004 Amanda worked as the Student Activities Organiser at Students At Macquarie, during which time she managed major events such as O-Week and the main stage at Conception Day. She also managed The Lighthouse Theatre, Macquarie University’s premier performance space.
Over the last few years, Amanda has been involved with several successful shows in her hometown of Sydney. Her improvisation production credits include the hugely popular regular impro show BLANK the Musical (Producer), as well as Pulp & Pulp Returns(2008) and Pulp 2 (2009) (Stage Manager, Lighting operator) for Impro Australia/Marko Mustac Productions, the 2009 Cranston Cup Grand Final (Producer and Stage Manager) at the Enmore Theatre, the Impro Unwrapped Charity Show (Producer) and Theatresports National Championships 2010 (Stage Manager). She also produced A Dark Day’s Knight at the Lighthouse Theatre, production managed Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass, Princess Cabaret and BLANK the Musical at the Bondi Pavilion in July 2009, and lighting operated and stage managed for the regular Cabaret Merlot shows at The Roxbury Hotel in 2009.
Amanda has produced a number of Festival shows. For the 2008 Melbourne International Comedy Festival, she produced Princess Cabaret at The Imperial Hotel and BLANK the Musical at the Kaleide. In 2009, she produced Dolls Cabaretand production managed Alice in Wonderlandand Through the Looking Glass, all of which were performed at Trades Hall. She also produced and tour managed Princess Cabaret at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, which was followed by a season at The World’s Funniest Island Festival. In 2010 she has produced Alice in Wonderland and Fairy Fail for the Adelaide Fringe Festival and Princess Cabaret and Fairy Fail for the 2010 Sydney Comedy Festival.
Amanda is excited that she will be producing Princess Cabaret and Fairy Fail at the Gilded Balloon during the 2010 Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
