Sam Pacelli
Sam is a Brighton based improv comedian who is a co-founder and performer in one of the UK’s leading Improvised Comedy groups, ‘The Noise Next Door’. Over the last two years the troupe have enjoyed critical acclaim and growing audiences, performing to sell out crowds at the Bath, Oxford, Brighton and Edinburgh Fringe Festivals in 2008 and 2009.
Sam graduated from The University of Kent with an Mdrama in Drama And Theatre Studies specialising in stand-up comedy and also spent time studying abroad at The University of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Whilst at University, he flourished as President of the prestigious University Of Kent Dramatics Society and has performed in numerous lead roles in and out of University including as Oberon in ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ and Graham in ‘Under The Blue Sky’. Sam is also an adept singer and as has taken key roles in musicals such as Ernst Ludwig in ‘Cabaret’, Lord Brockhurst in ‘The Boy Friend’ and Gary in ‘A Slice Of Saturday Night’. His love of improvisation and comedy stems predominantly from his Italian heritage and training in Commedia Dell’Arte, an art form which he has performed and taught on three continents with productions as far afield as Bogotá, Colombia.
Sam has spent time on the UK comedy circuit not only with ‘The Noise Next Door’ but also as a solo stand-up comedian and as one half of musical double-act ‘Pacelli and Houghton’, with whom he reached the final of Paramount’s Funniest Student 2008. He is resident compere at The Noise Next Door Comedy Club in Brighton and continues to perform comedy up and down the UK.
