Goldilocks, the most popular and beautiful girl in all of Fairyfail, has gone missing! The only person who can find her is Brownilocks, her lesser known little sister. As Brownilocks sets off, she meets some Fairyfail residents- the Big Bad Wolf, Rumpelstiltskin and more – and discovers that they don’t quite live up to their reputations…

This is an original script subverting well-known fairytales. Brownilocks is the perennial underdog, and will demonstrate to children that heroes can appear in unlikely forms. It is cheeky and high energy, featuring 5 performers, a live musical score and a lot of audience interaction.

Venue
PARADE STUDIO, PARADE THEATRES
Price
Full $25 / Conc $22 / Group 6 + $20

When:
Fresh from a five-star season at the 2009 Edinburgh Fringe Festival comes Princess Cabaret, a satire dealing with those meek and male-dependent icons, the Disney Princesses. Seven young women with backgrounds in comedy, musicals and impro bring you fast-paced sketches and songs as they explore old conventions and their nostalgia for childhood heroines. Who knows, maybe happy endings don’t always require a prince! This cheeky satire contains high-level coarse language and adult themes.

With writer-director Brydie Lee-Kennedy as Ariel, musician Sophie Miller as Tinkerbell, Jo Bourke as Belle, Keira Daley as Aurora, Amy Louise Hume as Cinderella, Rebecca Saffir as Snow White and Elise Fabris as Jasmine.
